| WGEM, the legacy station in Quincy, IL, seeks a Managing Editor to drive content for its #1 rated news division. The successful candidate will serve as the #2 newsroom manager, responsible for research, development and assignment of news stories that offer differentiated elements. Preferred qualifications include Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, communications or related field, at least two years experience in a multi-platform, enterprise-driven shop, strong multi-tasking and logistical skills, understanding of the web and other new media concepts, plus the ability to master live breaking news. This position calls for a self-starter to facilitate coverage for multiple platforms, including television, new media and radio. WGEM is a dominant locally-owned station committed to strong customer-focused journalism. Quincy, IL offers low cost of living, good schools and is within a few hours drive of several major Midwestern metros, such as St. Louis, Chicago , Kansas City and Indianapolis.
